Ideas: Starting a New Business?

If You're looking for a fantastic way to start into business. FoDreams.Com has a great way. You really need to see this: Share In Our Success Business Opportunity

Starting a New Business?

I am a full-time worker and student.  In my business class, our group has to come up with an idea as to what business we would want to start and then go into detail as to why, where, how etc.  The people in my group decided to start a corporation and sell shoes.  I think this is the worst idea in the world.  Shoes?  Why?  What makes our shoes different from the millions out there?  How would we market them?  Is there a great need or desire for new shoes?  I told my classmates I would try to come up with something different and let them know.  After reading FoDreams.Com extensively, I figured I'd take a shot at writing you for any business ideas.  I was trying to think of something that people would really want or like, that would result in a demand and would hopefully result in a great profit (like the whole Beanie Babies craze).  Unfortunately, I'm more technical and not very creative.  Hopefully you can throw some ideas at me and I can take it from there.  I appreciate any help you can offer!

Well, here goes our collective response to your question:

(1)  I suggest you do a spin-off market proposal in a "twist" as in "shoe accessories," or to find a market that you do like and develop a business that compliments that market, such as accessories.

(2)  While shoes may not be the most interesting thing to sell, I really do believe there is a need for shoes different from most of what I've seen.  I'm always looking for shoes that are extremely comfortable (with excellent heel and arch support because I have sciatica) but that are also really nice looking, dressy or sexy sometimes.  I'd like to see flats that don't look like cowpies but are still comfortable (especially since we're not allowed to wear tennis shoes here and I really need to).  I know there's Easy Spirit but they're fairly expensive and I don't think their pumps (heels) are significantly more comfortable than other shoes.  I guess I'm looking for a cross between Easy Spirit and Adidas.  I'll bet that millions of baby boomers out there are looking for the same.  Our parents resigned themselves to SAS shoes - but my generation isn't ready for that yet.

(3)  You could probably make a million if you could find a way to protect the right heel of women's shoes from getting gronky from driving.  Maybe a little plastic protector for the heel that's easy to slip on and off in the car, a little cuplike device, not hard plastic to damage the shoe or wearer, but sturdy enough to protect.you might have a business.  Or fabric, or maybe a clip at each end like bicyclers use to keep their pants out of the chain, so you just clip it by the arch, and clip it on your ankle, or something, and your shoe is protected.
